What we are all about
Red Balloon opened its doors on August 23, 1994. The owners, Sandra Forster and Dennis Yoerg, wanted to create a family centered environment for young children to grow emotionally, socially, intellectually, and physically. The goals have always been simple: create an educational setting where families have a safe and fun place to leave their children. In August of 2003, Bulldog University was created. Presently this program is housed in the south end of the Red Balloon building. The program offers flexible scheduling, field trips, themed activities, homework time, outside playgrounds, and academic activities. Also in August of 2003, the Ready Set Go program was opened. This is an option for parents who are looking for additional preschool sessions. Discounts are applied to tuition for families who participate in Red Balloon, Bulldog University and/or Ready Set Go. Talk to the directors about possible cost saving rates.
The owners are very proud of the fact that the staff are highly trained and have years of experience with us. Most of the employees have been with the company for over 5 years. The company provides yearly educational opportunities to expand each employee's knowledge of child development and the current best practices for working with young children.
Because both owners are school teachers, the focus on educational programing is a major focus. Equally important is to be flexible for families. This is why Red Balloon and Bulldog University charge for days scheduled only. The Company believes that if Grandma comes to visit, or if the parents have time off from work or school, that the children should be home with the Grandma or parent. So, the policy of "you pay for what you schedule" was born. Further, the programs also provide children with opportunities. The company offers an Educational Preschool - Ready Set Go, transportation is provided to Becker Community Education activities, Becker School Readiness programs, and other activities that are available to the children in the Becker Community. A partnership with parents with high quality programs that give parents the flexibility to meet their family needs is what Red Balloon, Bulldog University, and Ready Set Go are all about. Sandra E. Forster - Owner - August 1994
Sandra Forster is married to Jim and currently lives in the Becker area. She has been teaching for the Becker Schools since 1986. She graduated from Princeton High School, received her Bachelor Degree from St. Cloud State University (K-6 Elementary Education, K-12 Special Education), received her Masters from St. Thomas University, and is certified K-12 in Gifted Education. Currently she is a 6th grade math/communication teacher. She has 4 children: Chad, Sheena, Michael, and Katelyn. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, reading, snowmobiling, and traveling around the world.

Dennis P. Yoerg - Owner - August 1994
Dennis Yoerg is married to Deb and currently lives in the Clear Lake area. He has been teaching for the Becker Schools since 2004. He graduated from St. Cloud Apollo High School, received his Bachelor Degree from St. Cloud State University, and his Masters Degree from St. Mary's University. Currently he is a 6th grade math/communication teacher. He has 3 children: Kaitlyn, Matthew, and Jackie. In his spare time, he enjoys following his kids' sporting events and spending time at his cabin with his family.
